#Ep05 – Lo-Manthang: the last rampart of Tibetan culture

After stepping on the warm Maldives sand I moved to the cold mountains of Nepal to experience up-close the last authentic Tibetan communities on this planet.

After long jeep drives, I trekked for 5 days into Upper Mustang to finally reach the ancient walled city of Lo-Manthang.

A new road will make this remote place more accessible to tourist and business and, while this will be without a doubt better for the economy, I’m afraid that in the process the authenticity of the Tibetan way of life, that still survives in this region, will slowly fade away.
