Ephemera

A digital journey through some of the most fragile places and cultures on Earth

Our world is changing fast and irreversibly. Mankind activities on a global scale are modifying the environment but also causing rapid, ineluctable socio-economical shifts. The result is that today we can see, touch, smell and live things that will probably have disappeared in the next thirty years.

On the point turning 30, Italian designer and photographer Angelo Chiacchio decided to travel the world solo for 300 days, in order to explore some of the most fragile, evanescent places on Earth, and capture their true essence before it’s too late.
The project's primary goal is not necessarily to investigate causes or proposing solutions, but it's rather an invitation to experience and understand the different ways mankind relates to the land and the challenges it will have to face in the future. This is maybe the only way to grasp the importance of a global natural and cultural diversity we are losing and start working for a better way to live on this planet.
