Picture from Rotorua, New Zealand

I started my search for Maori in Rotorua, where you can discover Maori culture visiting multiple tourist attractions. But it’s a little too artificial for me. Fortunately I was lucky enough to be introduced to the Apumoana Marae by one of its members get to know its community and activity. The marae is a sacred place that serves spiritual and social purposes in the Maori society. It seems that in some part of the country this iconic place is losing its central role, as the Maori culture gets more and more integrated with Wester society. #maori #ephemera #newzealand #marae #travel #documentary

I’m getting used to sleeping in a camper-van. It’s actually quite comfortable once you’re all set. This leaves me with a lot of time to work on my edit with @lightroom and #lumafusion on the iPad Pro. #newzealand #ephemera #campervan #backstage #travel #documentary

Here we go! I rented a funny camper-van from @escaperentalsnz and started my road trip toward the Nord-East of North Island. Driving in NZ, with such landscapes, you definitely don’t get bored. #nz #ephemera #roadtrip #travel #documentary #aerial #landscapephotography

Picture from Papua New Guinea

Thank you Papua New Guinea. It has been a tough trip (lost my phone in the process) but the experience itself was so enriching. See you in a couple of years (maybe with my own jeep ;) ) #png #papuanewguinea #ephemera #documentary #aerial #landscapephotography #travel

I’m sharing this adventure on the highlands with Pamela and Ramiro, a young couple from Argentina, and Bonnie, a local who is helping us visiting the area. Rides on the bus are always something here! #png #ephemera #highlands #documentary #travel

Picture from Shengsi Islands

Only a handful of people are left living in Houtouwan. Like this 51 years old man, who still enjoys the view in the morning and cultivates the unused fecund land around the abandoned two-stories houses in the afternoon.

It wasn’t easy, but I’ve finally reached the abandoned village of Houtouwan on Shengshan island. I will tell you more about this place in the following days.

Photo from Shanghai

Just arrived in Shanghai. I will get some rest and take a look at the city before I leave for Gouqi island.
