As in many tropical areas around the planet, Borneo’s rainforests are being cut and degraded for wood, palm oil, pulp, rubber and minerals. The increase in these activities is being coupled with a growth in illegal wildlife trade, as cleared forests are easier to access and explore.

Right now I’m Danum Valley rainforest. This conservation area has an extensive diversity of tropical flora and fauna, including Bornean orangutans, gibbons, mousedeer, clouded leopards and over 270 kinds of birds. It is one of the rare places where you can still find these species in the wild.
