During our stay in Moroma we were given as an accommodation one of the rooms of the local Health Center, that is probably the most modern construction in the village.

In this aerial view of Morona you can see how the village balances the natural forest of the highlands with human plantations. You can also notice how, similar to what noticed in Tanzania, metal sheets roofs are replacing more and more the traditional thatched ones.

Another portrait from Morona, in the Chimbu province. One of the reason why these costumes could disappear is the fact that they are often made using the skin and plumage of endangered animals.

Ok, it seems that it wasn’t a sunny day after all. In the middle of the trail my guide and me were surprised by a pretty intense storm and had to head back to the dorm. Couldn’t get out for the afternoon walk neither. Still, I can’t get enough of the misty horizon typical of the rainforest.
